Fruit Is Better Than Vitamins
Fruit that is rich in vitamin C are powerful antioxidants that can protect cellular DNA from damage due to oxidation. Serena Guarnieri and researchers at other Division Human Nutrition, University of Milan, Italy, suspected that vitamin C supplements do not have the same protective effect with fruit such as oranges. The subject test is given to drink one glass of orange juice, beverages that contain vitamin C and the processing of sugar solution. And orange juice drink with vitamin C that has been processed, each containing 150 mg vitamin C, while sugar is not the solution.
Vitamin C levels in blood plasma increased after the orange juice and beverages that contain vitamin C results processing. DNA damage due to oxidation decreased the mean blood sample on the test subject to get the orange juice drink with vitamin C that has been processed and sugar solution did not show the protection effect. Thus, it can be concluded that vitamin C is not the only component that is responsible for the effect entioksidan, there are other things that need to be examined further. Vitamin C is available in the matrix along with the various other useful substances likely to interact with one another. Nutrient other researchers suspect that the possibility of sugar in the juice interact with vitamin C to produce the effect antioxidants. Effect of compound fitokimia (sianidin-3-glikosida, flavanon and karotenoid) that there need to be inspected in orange for further clarify the allegations of this.
So, better you pick a fruit than vitamins!
