An afternoon snack that I like most is banana fritter. In Indonesia, we call it as “pisang goreng” (Pisang: banana, goreng: fried). Actually, I like all of snack made from bananas. Perhaps later you will read many articles about food made from banana.
I have plan about it! ^^

Back to banana fritter, if you do not know that,
Banana fritter is banana that fried with flour.
This snack food is one of cheap snacks in Indonesia.
Usually eaten while still warm with sweet tea. Slurrrppp … very nice!
Especially if eaten when the weather is cold….

In Manado, banana fritter is eaten in a way which I feel it ’strange’.
They eat banana fritter with chilli sauce.
According to them, if it eaten without chilli sauce, is not tasty.

My friend, an American, eat banana fritter with honey. Some people eat it with chocolate sauce or milk.According to me, those are better than with chilli sauce.

Have you ever eat fried banana? With what you eat that?

This sauce glance seem like curry sauce, but more viscous. This delicious taste comes from the mixture of pig blood with spices typical Batak (one of the clans in Indonesia).

One of the ingredients and spices that used in this food, named Andaliman. It is pear-shaped, small, and black. This Andaliman that makes taste unique, spicy, and sting in the tongue. Sangsang B2 becomes the main menu and favorite visitor in Batak’s kampong.

Saffron or Crocus sativus is the most expensive spice in the world. The expense is not comes from the lack of availability, because actually it is easily cultivated, but comes from the extraordinary labor involved in the harvesting and preparing for the storage. It takes anything from 70,000 to 250,000 flowers to make one pound of saffron and you have to hand pick the flower in the autumn when fully open. It is not the expense that make the saffron usage in foods is very little, bit because if you add it too much, you will make your food biter. Using it in large quantities will also make it become toxic.
